Tec Thoughts

Being a newbie to the whole internet world I am finding it very frustrating getting started on a website that I am working on with my friend Tom who is in web design. He does his web design during the day and I am in accounting, in the evening we both have a side D.J. business and this is the site that we are trying to build right now. I didn't even have a computer, that's how inexperienced I am about all this but one night Bob and I got to talking about promoting the business and when we both came up with the internet idea, we knew we had hit the jackpot. I purchased my computer the next day ordered my web access and am not sitting here trying to figure out all I can about building a website.

Since Tom does web design he will be taking care of the design, building and any technicalissues, my share of the work is supposed to be promotion and I have no clue yet how to go about it. I am taking advantage of the time that Tom will be taking to design and set up the site to learn all I can about advertising online. From what I have learned so far in a chat room I was in this morning, it may take quite a bit of money, it's a good thing I earn a nice living and will be able to afford this, but who knew that it would be so expensive. No wonder Tom chose the web design, it'sprobablycheaper than doing the promotion.

I also bumped into a fellow in that chat room that says he will teach me how to put our site in every single search engine out there but that it will cost me $100.00 for the info. He says it takes a lot of time because of the high amount ofenginesand that he needs to have his time paid for. Being so new I don't know if this is legit or if this guy is just trying to scam money out of me. I think I am going to have to sit on his offer a few days, at least till I do some more research. I am pretty confident that all I need is a week or so to at least understand the basics and be able to do it on my own, I want to be able to do my share of the work on this site.
